The Oil Palm Industry wants precise monitoring of its main operations

The Oil Palm industry wants precision monitoring of its FFB output, assets coverage and workers coverage. It wants to spot the gaps to increase its FFB yield, while decreasing its labour costs.

Each Tanalys tool has been developed over the last 5 years in collaboration with a Sandakan based planter. Each uses Bluetooth 4.0, a wireless technology first released in South East Asia by Samsung on the rugged table on the right in mid December 2014.

Three separate wireless precision monitoring tools provide three separate sets of data:

- The first tool counts, grades and weighs FFBs digitally (Digital Recording)
- The second tool relies on in-field assets coverage to monitor unattended FFBs (tree2mill)
- The third tool relies on in-field workers coverage to monitor unattended palms (stop-gaps)

Stand-alone, each tool requires little training. They integrate very quickly with current SOPs and do not interfere with existing ERPs (SAP, Oracle...).

TanalysTanalys TabletFirst to be released is the estate performance measurement tool Digital Recording. Wireless interaction between the data logger on the left & the tablet on the right, gives managers a day by day, harvester by harvester, manurer by manurer, block by block, round by round, FFBs output or each palm fertilized with which fertilizer, unharvested ripe crop etc.

tree2mill and stop-gaps follow Digital Recording. Each will allow managers to know, at the end of each day, which FFBs or which palms have not been attended to that day. Operational gaps get corrected the next day.

 

 

The tanalys Solutions - Digital Recording, tree2mill and stop-gaps

1. Digital Recording records digitally the number and the grade of each FFB cut by a given harvester and the weight of each trailer, each bin with its ABW.
2. tree2mill improves the quality and quantity of harvested fruits that reach the mill. More FFB reach the mill with a controlled OER thanks to tablets and data loggers that “talk” to each other to check the data captured only once by the checker.
3. stop-gaps makes harvesting/manuring “gaps” disappear overnight. To recover all ripe crops in time you need to know DAILY what palms Harvesters MISSED. The same with manuring.
